Wat Dhammabucha Buddhist Temple is a monastery in the lineage of the Thai Forest Tradition. Founded in 1986 by Phra Ajahn Samarn Siripanyo, it has been under the direction of Ajahn Sommai Accito as abbot since 2012.

The purpose of Wat Dhammabucha is to serve as a place for Buddhist monks to live and practice. Additionally it serves as a place for laypeople to support the monks as well as develop their own practice and serves as a place for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike, providing a quiet place for meditation and personal reflection.

The monastery is part of the Theravada, Dhammayut Order of the U.S. which is an extension of the Dhammayut order in Thailand.

Daily Schedule:

The Monastery is open daily from 6:00am to 8:00pm.

6:00am-6:45am:

• Morning Chanting, held in the sala located in the middle entrance.
• After chanting, there is a 20 minute meditation.

10:30am:

• Laypeople gather to prepare to offer meal to monks in the sala (hall) next to the kitchen.

11:00am:

• Laypeople offer meal to monks.

11:30am:

• After the offering, the laypeople recite the morning chants. On certain occasions, monks and laypeople may recite other chants such as the Five or Eight Precepts. Afterwards, the laypeople have a potluck meal together.

12:00pm:

• Cleanup after meal.

7:00pm-8:00pm

• Evening Chanting - held in the sala, located in the first entrance.
• After chanting, there is a 20 minute meditation.

Individual & Group Visits:

The Monastery is open every day from 6:00am-8:00pm, year-round, to day visitors. It is not necessary to call for permission to visit. However, if you are bringing a group, please call or email at least one week in advance.
