There must be a breach in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (Contract). As soon as a breach has been made:
Contact your site rep. Please be prepared to cite what part of the contract has been broken. If you aren't sure, the site rep will be able to assist you.
You may also contact a member of the grievance committee for assistance.
You have 10 days (business) from when the breach occurred to begin with the Informal Level.
If the matter is not resolved at the Informal Level, you may proceed to Formal Level 1 - Appropriate Administrator
Administrator has 7 days (business) to render a written decision.
If the grievance isn't resolved at Formal Level 1, you may proceed to Formal Level 2 - Superintendent
You have 7 days to submit a grievance after the administrator's written response.
The Superintendent has 7 days to render a written decision.
If the grievance is not settled at Formal Level 2, it can move to Formal Level 3 - Grievance Mediation
You and/or the association has 7 days to submit the grievance to a non-binding mediation.
An impartial mediator shall be jointly selected within 7 days of the written request.
Mediation will happen at the convenience of the mediator.
Any fees not paid for by services (outlined in Article V, C, 4) will be jointly shared.
Mediation from start to finish will not exceed 35 calendar days.
