Who Are We?
Joli Fou is a club whose primary target are students in the Geology program. Our mission is to provide a community of support, mentorship, and an avenue for professional development between MRU students and the Geoscience industry in Alberta and Canada.
Why Joli Fou?
Joli Fou is named after a formation found in Alberta, Canada located in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
Joli Fou is committed to upholding the values of equity, diversity and inclusion. The geoscience world has been influenced by people who come from all genders, races, religions and other identifying factors. At Joli Fou, we aim to change the image of what it means to be a geoscientist by using our platform to showcase the range and diversity that exists within our community.
Joli Fou would like to recognize that Mount Royal University is situated on the traditional Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) Territory and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta. These people include the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuu t'ina and the Iyarhe Nakoda. The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation.
