This Privacy Policy describes how Office Scanner (referred to as "the App", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by Advit Singh, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application.
By installing and using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
A. Document Scans (Local Storage)
All document scans, edits, crops, drawings, and PDF generations are processed 100% locally on your mobile device. We do not upload your documents, images, or scanned PDFs to any external servers or third-party storage.
B. Google Drive Syncing
If you choose to connect your Google Account to enable the "Google Drive Backup" sync feature:
drive.file Scope: The App requests access only using the Google Drive drive.file scope. This permission allows the App to create, read, and write files in a dedicated folder (named "Office Scanner") on your personal Google Drive.
Privacy Boundary: The App cannot view, modify, or delete any other files, folders, or personal data stored in your Google Drive.
Data Transmission: Your synced documents are sent directly from your device to your personal Google Drive storage. No data is sent to the developer or any middleman servers.
C. Personal Data
The App does not require user registration or logins (other than standard OAuth login for Google Drive backups). We do not collect personal identification information such as your name, phone number, or physical address.
To function correctly, the App requests the following permissions on your device:
Camera: Required to capture images of physical documents for scanning.
Storage / Media (Read/Write): Required to import images/PDFs from your gallery and save compressed/merged PDF documents to your device.
Internet: Required only to transmit backup files to your Google Drive account when sync is enabled.
The App utilizes Google APIs and Google Play Services to facilitate Google Drive backups and cloud interactions. These services collect information in accordance with their own policies:
The security of your document scans is our priority. Since your files are stored locally on your device and backed up to your personal Google Drive, the security of your data depends on:
The security locks (passcode/fingerprint) of your mobile device.
The security settings of your personal Google Account. We recommend using strong security credentials for both.
Our App does not collect any personal information and is safe for all age groups. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted.
