How big of a Solar System do I need?

Many people are puzzled regarding what size systems they can place on their roofing system supplied there is sufficient area to take all the panels. So, here are a few simple standards for grid linked users:

1. If you have single stage power you can have up to 10kW of inversion and 13.3 kW of panels. Generally most service providers will wish to offer a basic 5kW of inversion and 6.5 kW of panels but if the feedback from the inverters is limited to simply 5kWh you can double the size.

2. If you have 3 phase power you can typically have 15kW of inversion and as much as 19.9 kW of panels.

3. When you include a battery the rated output of the included inversion enables you to increase the number of panels considering that any additional generation is going to go to the battery instead of back into the grid
