Biography:
Özxan Shan is a Munich‑based electronic music artist, singer, songwriter, and producer known for his unique blend of Dark EDM, techno, oriental influences, and cinematic soundscapes. Born in Uzbekistan and raised between cultures, he developed a distinctive musical identity shaped by Eastern melodies, European club energy, and a lifelong fascination with the paranormal.
His artistic journey began early: in the mid‑1990s he designed his first personal logo by hand — a yellow four‑armed star flanked by two crescent moons, topped with a dome and a fine East‑Turkic face. This symbol, representing his cultural roots and inner world, still accompanies his music today.
Özxan Shan received vocal training in the 5th and 6th grade, which later influenced his melodic approach to electronic production. Over the years, he explored various genres, eventually forming the project “Özxan Shan and the Squirrels”, active until the end of 2025. The group produced several experimental tracks and helped shape his early sound before he transitioned fully into his solo career.
As a solo artist, he creates a wide spectrum of electronic music — from dark, haunting EDM to fast techno tracks, oriental dance versions, and club mixes. His releases often feature atmospheric storytelling, folklore elements, and emotional depth. He also records traditional Türkü songs, reflecting his cultural heritage.
Beyond music, Özxan Shan is involved in paranormal research, a passion that frequently inspires the themes and aesthetics of his work. In 2020, he co‑created the silent film “The Curious Brothers” with his brother, expanding his artistic expression into visual storytelling.
Today, his music appears on Spotify, YouTube Music, and various streaming platforms, reaching listeners worldwide. His daughter, a dedicated supporter, curates complete discography playlists that help introduce new audiences to his evolving sound.
Özxan Shan continues to develop new projects, including a future biography book and a growing catalog of EDM and techno releases. His upcoming works — such as the World Cup 2026 track blending Indian techno with Mexican trumpets — showcase his commitment to innovation and cultural fusion.
