Anglo-Saxon Evenings: We are pleased to inform that we have prepared two special evenings for our conference participants, and we would like to warmly invite all of you to join us for those small festivities.
Day 1 - Anglo-Saxon Game Night (19:30 - Pod Rozbrykanym Kócem)
Do you think that you could become a wise Anglo-Saxon leader and that you would manage to escape safely from a party of Vikings who has just surrounded you? Or maybe you would rather impersonate a brave Viking leader and try to entrap a group of Anglo-Saxon warriors?
We would like to invite you to spend some time with us playing a chess game which was very popular among the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings. The meeting will include a short tafl games workshop which will be followed by hours of truly heroic battles on game boards
Not a fan of boardgames and bloodshed? There will be also an opportunity to test your minds with Old English Scrabble or Anglo-Saxon Riddles.
Who knows what else awaits you that night?
Day 2 - One Charm a Day Keeps the Doctor Away (19:00 - Place TBA)
Feeling a bit under the weather? What would your options be if you lived in Anglo-Saxon England? Would you survive being treated with dog urine and mouse blood?
What should a man do to be immune to his wife’s harsh words throughout the entire day?
If you are interested in Anglo-Saxon remedies, charms, strange recipes feel free to join us for this evening of mystery and imagination!
