To reinforce what we’re doing, try this activity with your child.

Explore states of matter with your child by playing a fast-paced game of What’s the State?

·     To play, you name something and your child names the state of matter. For example, if you say, “Milk!” your child says, “Liquid!”

·          Then reverse roles. This time, your child names something and you name the state of matter.

·     After several rounds, change the game. This time, you name a state of matter and your child names an example. For instance, if you say, “Solid!” your child names a solid, such as wood.

·     Use a tally sheet to keep track of the number of error-free exchanges in one minute. Two minutes. Five minutes.

·     Invite other family members to play!
