On Dec 10, 2019, the OEF was invited to the STEAM lab ribbon cutting ceremony. Thanks to generous supporters like you, we were able to help fund this initiative with $40,000!
This OEF grant enabled the children to write stories as a class or grade and then have the stories acted out by the Story Pirates. It was a fun learning experience and had the students, teachers, and parents laughing. OEF is proud to be able to bring such an engaging program to the school.
OEF was proud to be able to deliver Valley Middle School's grant. The wireless buzzer game systems benefit multiple grades and subjects, such as history, science, and math to engage students while learning!
Dogwood Hill Elementary 4th graders learned about the butterfly life cycle with their butterfly kits. We are proud to be able to support this project!
The STEAM lab at Heights, which benefits all K-5 schools in the district, received VR goggles that students may use under the teacher’s instructions.
Thanks to a grant from our foundation, Ms. Osborne’s 4th grade science classes at Dogwood Hill Elementary can now experience the wonder of life firsthand with new egg hatching equipment. This hands-on project brings biology to life, sparking curiosity and a deeper understanding of life cycles in young learners.
Mr. John Miller and the Inflatable Planetarium visited OPS Elementary Schools for an “in-house” field trip in 2024. Mr. Miller provided an enriching, age-appropriate program. The students and (staff members) were fully engaged throughout the program. All first graders in the district benefit from these wonderful experiences.
The Oakland Education Foundation has provided scholarships to Indian Hills and Ramapo High School grads from the Oakland K-8 school district every year since the inception of the Foundation.
