We started off as people of the gaming universe. College youngsters are looking for the same will that all of us have as group friends. Building this anti-controversy into making gaming into learning. Succeeded but never really entertained anyone. Through the years that all of us had the experience making our own retro game and compiling mechanics of underrated games into a profitable one. Although it may look like we can go the high road that easily. There were difficulties. It went from a dream career into a very huge turn because of every iniquitous event that we’ve encountered. Mark, Johnielle, Lejan, Dave, and I(Kevin) are all IT graduates that had a dream to at least get the chance to apply to our desired gaming company, Sony. With the tough luck we had, we weren’t able to get in. After getting that email all of us received and read at the same time at that one bar we expected to be admitted, we parted ways. It was so subtle we had to make a living for our loved ones and family.
Long days were quiet even in minutes of silence, we were all reminded of the same thing. The dreams in our hearts were never shattered. All of us kept going with the life we had but there came the day wherein we all came back together again. There was a venue for those who would want to attend a webinar about games in developing on their own. Coincidentally, we all came at the same time. At the door step of the webinar that we were about to attend (that was already starting) is the time and place that we all had the chance to recall all the moments we missed and we should and shouldn’t have done. We didn't stop there. All of us attended the webinar and listened thoroughly, this is one of the main reasons why we began to start our own company.
After that webinar we all had a fun time talking about what’s been going on with our lives. We all ended up going back to our hometown to recreate the times we had back then. There it hit us, the sudden urge to take back the chance we wanted to do and remaster the idea into an independent corporation. With the standard type of skills we had, we all saved up our finances for us to invest on our temporary arcade area, made by us truly. Each game we made inside that arcade represented the lives we were going through and it inspired many players. Through those years we weren’t in good shape because of our age and at the same time, there were still people who are so-called “experts” criticizing our work.
In our 20s we were apart but now, before we even get to go to our 30s, we at least had the chance to rise from the shadows and light up our passion to create a game that people will love worldwide. WeI ended up with this company we made. First, making a company on our own, arcades into selling indie-games, indie-games into cooperation with other companies that need assistance, into receiving an email from Sony upon giving us a chance to join them. Our own ideas and our own strategies gave us strength and conjured the pain we had back then but now it all went back. A part of all of us wanted to accept the offer but all of us agreed to decline. Since our company has the same concept of other rising companies which is about games, we decided to make this company a very independent, self-earning, great company.
It didn’t take that long until we created our very first aesthetic but current detailed type of game that shows what we are capable of and what the world is yearning to play. There we named our company over the greatest game we’ve ever made, Odyssey’s Abyss!
