Join our Team! - Undergraduate Students
Position Description
Undergraduate students working as research assistants (RAs) in the SEAL lab have the opportunity to become involved in a variety of research related activities. RA duties will likely include: participating in weekly lab meetings, conducting literature reviews, entering and managing data, recruiting study participants, and collecting data. Opportunities for more advanced research experiences will increase as RAs gain more experience in the lab. For example, experienced RAs will have the opportunity to assist with manuscripts and conference presentations, and take the lead on their own research projects (with the mentorship of Dr. Espinosa). We aim to ensure that RAs gain exposure to numerous, diverse experiences that span the phases of experimental research; however, the specific duties will vary in a given semester depending on project needs at the time.
Requirements
We seek highly motivated, conscientious individuals who are interested in gaining experience in experimental social and personality psychological research! A minimum of 8 hours per week is preferred. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred. Freshman, sophomore, and junior students are highly encouraged to apply!
There may be opportunities for RAs to join as volunteers, 3-credit course at ODU, or a 0-credit course internship at ODU.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have about the RA position or the application process in general.
