International Overdose Awareness Month

Working together to end overdose

Jefferson County Public Health, the Jeffco Substance Use Partnership and our collaborating partners across the county are working to #endoverdose. In observance of International Overdose Awareness Day/Month, we're facilitating key activities to better inform our community and make a direct impact in addressing overdose.

creative

opportunity

Calling all creatives! We're soliciting artwork from people who have been affected overdose to be displayed in JCPH's Parfet Building and this website with the hopes of sharing your powerful stories. Submissions can be anything we can display on a wall (drawing, painting, poetry, photography, graphic design, etc.) - To submit your work, please email a digital copy to Michael Miller at mmiller@jeffco.us

community

training

Our collective action coalition identified community awareness and education as a primary initiative to address substance use in Jeffco. With that in mind, we're hosting two virtual training opportunities for community members this month:

  • August 25th 6 PM - 7 PM: Cycle of Drug-Related Stigma (Use this link to join the training: https://bit.ly/3afcayN)

  • August 31st 6 pm - 7 PM: Substance Use 101/Overdose Prevention | (Use this link to join the training: https://bit.ly/30NOjDc) **All attendees who complete the OD Prevention training will be eligible to receive a free OD Prevention Kit from JCPH via mail
