Sambalpuri cotton saree

It is a saree that’s totally traditional which is made by handwoven where as it warped and the weft are tie-dyed before weaving . It is mailnly produced in sambalpur, sonepuer, Bargarh, Balangir, Boudh district of Odisha. Basically it is produced in district of odisha. This sambalpuri cotton saree is too traditional. The width of the sarrees is 4-9mtr in length. The Colour of the saree are basically red, black and white, which represent true odia culture alongwith Lord Jagannath face colour . There are several type of sambalpuri sarees like Pasapali saree, Bomkai saree, habaspuri saree & Fabric.

This sarees became the First popular saree outside the state when the Prime minister Indira Gandhi started wearing them. In between 1980-1990 the saree became popular across India.
