When you sign in with Google, we collect your email address, name, and profile picture. This allows us to identify your account, manage your credits, and sync your preferences.

Usage Data
We collect anonymised information about how you use the Service, such as:

Number of chat requests and page analyses
Subscription plan and credit usage
Timestamps of requests (without storing the actual questions or page content)

Payment Information
All payments are processed by a third‑party payment provider (Paddle). We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card details, billing address, or other sensitive financial information. We only retain your transaction ID, the plan purchased, and the amount paid for reconciliation and support purposes.

Local Storage
Your chat history (questions and AI responses) is stored only on your own device using Chrome’s local storage. We do not have access to your chat history unless you choose to export or share it.

Technical Data
We may automatically collect basic technical information such as browser version, extension version, device type, and country‑level location. This data is anonymised and used solely for performance monitoring and debugging.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and maintain the OctoPlus extension.
Process your requests for AI‑powered chat and webpage analysis.
Manage your credits, subscription, and usage limits.
Communicate with you about your account (e.g., payment confirmation, low credit alerts).
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised use.
Improve the Service (using aggregated, anonymised statistics).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Payment records (transaction ID, date, amount) are kept for as long as required by tax and accounting laws (typically 7 years).

Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account directly from the extension menu (Account Status → Delete Account). You may also contact us at mazibukosakhiwo@gmail.com. Within 30 days of a verified request, we will permanently delete your personal data from our systems. Uninstalling the extension removes local data from your device.

5. Data Security

We implement industry‑standard security measures to protect your information:

HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between the extension and our servers.
Secured databases with access controls.
Regular security updates and monitoring.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
