Why Join OCSCA?

• We host 2 BIG College & Career Fairs for the students of Ocean County.  The College and Career fairs are our main source of scholarship funds for our Ocean County students.

• We partner with Monmouth County for our annual Good Ideas Conference.  This year it will be held at Brookdale Community College on Friday, March 5, 2027. 

• OCSCA works with various colleges and vocational/trade schools to host at least 5 professional development dinners throughout the year - free to members!  It is a great time to relax and connect with co-workers and other counselors.  

• Members receive a small gift of appreciation during National School Counseling Week! 

• Last year our association gave out over $48,000 in scholarships.

• OCSCA hosts a Scholarship Breakfast for the George A Riester, OCSCA and Bob Raimann Scholarship recipients, their parents/guardians and school counselors. 

• Each dues paying high school in Ocean County is awarded an extra $500 Scholarship to give to a deserving student, who is chosen by the Guidance Department.

• Each high school guidance department in Ocean County is able to select a Caring Award recipient and they receive a $250 award.  

• Caring Awards are given to 1 student at each elementary and middle school in the county.

• It’s really fun to connect with counselors from other schools and levels!
