Mission:
The mission of Outreach of Cape Fear (OCF) is to help "bridge the gap" for the disadvantaged and at-risk youth within our communities in Southeastern North Carolina utilizing the concept of S.C.O.R.E. - Sportsmanship, Community, Outlook, Respect, and Endurance. OFC uses the medium of soccer to encourage physical activity in a safe and supportive environment and also to address the mental and emotional discipline needed to excel at sports and for life in general.
Founder and President of Outreach of Cape Fear and Coach Extraordinaire
Kim Crabbe, the first African American women called up to the U.S. Women's National Team, ironically was given the nickname "Crabby," considering her infectious charm and being beloved by soccer friends and colleagues alike.
In early 1986, Kim pioneered her way into the national team camp, playing outside back for the eventual World Cup-winning coach and ever-present North Carolina great, Anson Dorrance.
Kim currently resides in Wilmington, NC where she serves both her community and youth as Director of The Wilmington Hammerheads Outreach Program.
Along with her New Non-Profit OUTREACH of Cape Fear, "Coach Kim" passionately shares with 800+ young, deserving athletes, targeting the underserved and at risk. "Soccer is a beautiful, universal-language that'll forever impact The Game..... and I'm just Blessed & Honored to be a part of it!!"

Kathy served on the Board from it's inception until her final days. She was a retired Military Veteran (Army Nurse Corps), choosing to serve communities in Wilmington and New Hanover County. Kathy, dear friend with Coach Kim, was always totally committed to youth in soccer. She was a "can do" person and knew how to gather resources. We are thankful for her impact on youth sports in our community.
