Academic Accommodation Center

Students with disabilities, whether physical, learning, or psychological, who believe that they may need special accommodations in this class, are encouraged to contact the Academic Accommodation Center as soon as possible to ensure that accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion. Per district policy, authorization, based on verification of disability, is required before any special accommodation can be made.

Please also send your instructor a Canvas message and let them know if you have any specific needs that they should be aware of, or if you have trouble accessing any materials in the course. 

Academic Support/Tutoring

The Center for Academic Success (CAS) is an excellent resource for students looking for help with academic skills. Online tutoring is offered through the CAS, as well as free online Student Success Workshops.  Topics include speaking skills, writing and editing skills, reading skills, time management skills, research skills, and note-taking strategies. 

Bookstore

The Pierce College Bookstore provides for the sale of books and supplies connected with the academic programs of the college.    

Brahma Bodega

The Brahma Bodega and Basic Needs Program provides students with access to food and housing resources, ongoing motivational support, and referrals to agencies that are designed to meet students’ basic needs, including physical, psychological/emotional, and economic needs. Our goal is to alleviate stressors to help students be successful at the college and beyond!

Cal Works

The CalWo program serves all CalWorks students attending Pierce College.  A variety of services designed to support your educational, career, and personal goals is offered, such as advocacy for child care, student education plans (SEP), work-study opportunities, child care in the campus Child Development Center for eligible children, and much more. 

Counseling

Academic counselors are available to assist you with many of your educational needs, such as helping to clarify your values and goals; developing a student education plan (SEP); interpreting articulation agreements with other colleges and universities, and much more.  

Dream Resource Center

The Dream Resource Center (DRC) supports undocumented students throughout their educational journey. We provide information, resources, and services to ensure our students are equipped with the tools to have a successful college experience.

EOP&S

Equal Opportunity Programs and Services is a state-funded support program designed to assist qualified low-income and educationally disadvantaged students in completing their educational goals with the assistance of financial and student support services.  It is an invitational program open only to those who qualify and commit to participating in the program.  

Financial Assistance

If you need money to pay for books, supplies, enrollment fees, parking, and other expenses to help you with college, apply for financial aid.  To learn about the financial aid process and how to get help, visit the Pierce College Financial Aid Office.

Health Center Services

Medical and mental health services are available to all currently enrolled students at the Student Health Center. There is no cost to students to see any of the medical and mental health providers during extended office hours. Call 818-710-4270 to make a virtual or telephone appointment.

UMOJA

UMOJA is an academic learning community and resource dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African American students and others. Umoja advances academic excellence, community building, and student leadership as its program goals. Students can enroll in a yearlong program, where they will take linked classes by Umoja-trained professors. The Umoja community will allow for strong bonds to be developed by students, professors, mentors, and counselors. 

Veteran's Services 

The mission of the Pierce College Veterans Office is to provide a supportive environment for veterans and to assist them with the services they need to receive VA benefits and to complete their educational goals at Pierce College.  The Veteran Office is designed as a liaison between you as a veteran and the Veterans Administration.  Our email contact is pierce-veteran@piercecollege.edu
