Responsible for the overall coordination, planning, administration and management of the Marine Regions Forum project together with the project team, the participants of the Consortium (including team members from three organisations) and other project partners. Responsible for delivering the project deliverables and milestones, including organising the Marine Regions Forum 2023 Conference that was held in Tanzania, in November 2023. 2012 (May and June), 2013 (April), 2015 (April) ‐ Volunteering with the Namibian Dolphin Project in Lüderitz and Walvis Bay, Namibia. This included boat‐based behavioural observations and photo ID, initial analysis of acoustic data and photo ID recognition as well as ad hoc science communication with the public visiting the Walvis Bay information centre.
2007 ‐ 2010: Volunteer researcher for BirdLife South Africa’s seabird division. Investigating the long‐term impact of flipper banding on foraging trip lengths and return rates on Africa Penguins.
