I designed, built, and installed this furniture-style island built from Black Walnut and whitewashed knotty pine. Plumbing is concealed in a Walnut box beneath the sink portion. Renders are from my drawings.
Whitewashed knotty pine wall paneling, walnut countertops, and walnut shelving along the perimeter are my work. I performed the cabinet installation with cabinets by others.
Island countertop and range hood by others.
The entire top floor of this building was purpose built as a bar. The client brought a single photo of a door she saw on vacation. I used it to design the cabinetry, as well as the layout. I had to source the cabinetry and trim through multiple shops while keeping the stain colors and wood textures true. Contractors did part of the installation, I did the rest, including the mirrors. Countertops of copper and iron by CMT Fabrication in Kalispell.
This client needed an accessible kitchen on a budget. A rolling cart that integrated with the cabinetry was a must-have. I built it from pre-finished cabinetry from the factory.
I designed the kitchen and managed the remodel with multiple subcontractors.
A throwback to one of the first kitchens I worked on in Montana from 2004. Tons of stacked mouldings, appliance cutouts, applied trim. All prefinished factory cabinetry and mouldings. My employer at that time used this project in their advertising for years, including the inside cover of the Parade of Homes magazine.
The mandate was for walnut treads and risers, with a knife-edge joint. I had to construct each steep individually, then install them with fastners concealed by the stair above to allow wood movement. The landing is T&G flooring I milled and grain-matched between the two levels of the landing. Stair rail by others.
