What Do We Do?
The mission of the OCCF is to run fundraisers and locate sources of grants, funding and contributions to supplement the activities and programs offered by the OCC that are NOT funded by the Town budget.
Why Are We Needed?
The costs to run the wide variety of programs and activities offered by the OCC far exceed what is allocated to it in the Town budget. The OCC offsets some its shortfalls by charging small fees for some of its activities. Other activities are supplemented or fully funded by grants. The process of seeking out and submitting applications for grants is time-consuming and only a fraction actually come to fruition. Even so, the OCC increased their operating funds by almost 30% through the acquisition of grants. The OCCF, as a tax-exempt non-profit, will have access to a much larger pool of grant opportunities.
