Running Off the Floor
You can run off the floor for any position besides N'siah. If you plan to run off the floor, you must inform Maya before elections so you can fill out a form and can call your parents to ask for permission. You will have one minute to state your goals and ideas for the position you aspire to hold on the day of elections.
Nominations
Any member at the election is allowed to nominate another member for a position. All positions can have nominations EXCEPT N’siah. If you wish to nominate someone for a position, you must have completed the nomination form prior to the election. If you are nominated for a position, you can accept by saying some form of yes three times or deny by saying, “I accept the honor but decline the nomination.” If you say yes, you have one minute to state your qualifications without using the word “I”.
Sliding Over
If you wish to slide over, you will have one minute to state your goals and ideas for that position. Slide overs are only allowed for candidates who caucused and specified their slide over position in their email of declaration.
Voting
Each person in attendance at Chapter Convention will have one vote. A majority is reached when there is 50% plus one vote for a candidate. If a majority is not reached, we continue to vote until there is a majority.
