Picasso famously said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
Why OBRA ni ORBE?
It was way back in 2018 when I had a chitchat with my college friend, exchanging ideas about the name of her business, and suddenly an idea popped up in my mind also--to have my own brand name. Since my surname is ORBE and I'm into arts and stuff and OBRA means artwork or masterpiece, I combine OBRA in my surname, thus OBRA ni ORBE.
HerStory (History)
I once saw a KDrama series last 2018 entitled," I Am Not A Robot" and was enamored with the male lead. It gave me the courage to draw the male actor even though I am not good at drawing portraits. This is the portrait: https://www.facebook.com/share/P4M6PpA3kmFaeUPD/
Since then, I created an FB Page with the same name and posted different kinds of art--from simple color pencils to acrylic paints to digital painting to Cricut-machines-artworks. And it became my part-time job, especially during the pandemic.
I still remember my first commission on art worth P500.00 from my cousin in Surigao. It's a portrait drawing of her daughter. We first met during our family staycation in Surigao, we are not even close, but she has faith in me--and I also have faith in myself. I took the risk even though I'm still a beginner. I have no further study in arts, my college course is not even close to it--though it's an art of recording, classifying, summarizing, and interpreting financial transactions. So I was a risk-taker at that time. I don't want to share the art, it's between me and my Teacher Ate because I'm ashamed of what I did to the portrait painting, makakanta na lang jod kag, "I did my best, but I guess my best wasn't good enough" lol.
