Introduction
ObjMark ("we," "our," or "the app") is a free mobile application for image annotation and bounding box labeling, designed to work with Google Vertex AI. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Data Collection and Storage
What We Collect
ObjMark does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. All data remains on your device:
Images: Photos you add to datasets (from camera or photo library)
Annotations: Bounding boxes and labels you create
Datasets: Collections of images and their annotations
App Settings: Your preferences (theme, label selections)
Local Storage Only
All data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and Expo FileSystem
No data is transmitted to our servers (we don't have any servers)
No analytics, tracking, or telemetry are collected
No user accounts or authentication required
Permissions
ObjMark requests the following permissions:
Camera Permission
Purpose: To capture photos for annotation
Usage: Only when you choose to add images via camera
Storage: Photos are saved locally on your device
Photo Library Permission
Purpose: To import existing photos for annotation
Usage: Only when you choose to add images from your library
Storage: References to your photos remain on your device
File System Permission
Purpose: To save and export annotation files (JSONL, CSV)
Usage: When you export your datasets
Storage: Export files are saved to your device's document directory
Data Sharing
We Do NOT Share Your Data
No data is transmitted to third parties
No data is sold or shared with advertisers
No data is sent to analytics services
Your images and annotations remain private on your device
User-Initiated Exports
When you export your dataset:
You create a JSONL or CSV file on your device
You choose what to do with this file (share, upload to Google Cloud Storage, etc.)
We do not access or transmit these files
Integration with Google Vertex AI
ObjMark creates annotation files compatible with Google Vertex AI format, but:
We do NOT transmit data to Google
We do NOT have any integration with Google's services
You manually upload images and annotations to Google Cloud Storage if you choose to use Vertex AI
Google's privacy policy applies once you upload data to their services
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally:
Your device's security measures protect your data
Use device encryption and secure lock screens
Back up your device regularly to prevent data loss
Uninstalling the app will delete all local data
Children's Privacy
ObjMark does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app can be used by anyone to annotate images locally on their device.
Data Retention and Deletion
How Long We Keep Data
We don't keep any data - all data is on your device.
How to Delete Your Data
Delete individual images or datasets within the app
Uninstall the app to remove all local data
Clear app data through your device settings
Your Rights
Since we don't collect your data, you have complete control:

✅ No tracking or profiling
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be posted within the app and on our distribution channels. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

ObjMark uses the following third-party services that may have their own privacy policies:

These services do not collect personal data through our app.
