About Jaidev Education Society

Jaidev Education Society is an educational trust registered under the Society’s Registration act 1860. About DBATU

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University is one and only one of its kinds in the State. The University is located at Lonere, the place in the ranges of Western Ghat, at the foot of Raigad fort, the place from where Chhatrapati Shivaji administered his major activities. It is autonomous in nature and Unitary in its character. It is established in the year 1989 by the Government of Maharashtra. Although relatively young, the University is making its mark in the field of research and technological services through its dedicated faculty and disciplined students.

The University has a conducted Institute of its own, "Institute of Petrochemical Engineering", running Diploma Courses in eight streams of engineering and technology.

Faculty Development Program

JD college of engineering & management is organizing five days faculty development program on the topic of, “ Outcome Based Pedagogic Approach For Effective Teaching-Learning & Accreditation", sponsored by DBATU.

This will be one of its kind FDP offering unique learning experience in the field of outcome based education. The main objective of this program is to develop a holistic approach about teaching, learning and learner-centered teaching in an environment designed to foster peer to peer interaction along with a wide range of professional and cultural exchanges.

The sessions will be conducted by eminent speakers and experts in the field of education from IIT's, NIT's and various government institutes delivering a unified view of outcome based teaching that is both grounded in research and theory and replete with guidance for novice and expert instructors.

Program Abstract

Globalization, Changing demographics and technological advancements are some of the key driving forces of the future. Our students will have to be prepared to face these challenges and seize the opportunists brought about by these forces. In Twenty-first century learning , students use educational technologies to apply knowledge to new situations, analyze information, collaborate, solve problems and make decisions. Twenty first century should be outcome based which develops certain critical core competencies such as collaboration , digital literacy =, critical thinking, problem solving and self learning.

Program Objectives

To develop outcome based curricula with the aim that education should carry learner and not the learner carrying education.
To improve students engagement in the classrooms and beyond.
To equip students with the 21st century knowledge, skills and attitude.
To allow continuous improvement in curricula.
To ensure lifelong learning with self-learning culture.
To design test items, assessment and evaluation system.
To assess the gap between teaching and learning.

Program Outcomes

After attending this course participants will be able to ,

Identify and write down appropriate outcome based course course module and unit objectives based on Blooms taxomnomy.
Design and develop suitable test items for all outcome based objectives for both summative and formative assessment.
Prepare an outcome based curriculum document for a course to meet NBA and Washington accord.
Teach more effectively so that students acquire the skill sets as per expected outcome of the course and hence the programme.
Design justified assessment and evaluation framework which reinforces teaching and learning.
Analyze the test items to bridge the gap between expected expected outcome and outcome achieved by the way of suitable remedial measures.
