Zymbia Interactive Technologies Private Limited (“Zymbia”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how data is handled when you use our Android application, OBD DashX: Car Scanner & HUD (“App”).
This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how it is used, and how we safeguard your data.
This Privacy Policy applies solely to the OBD DashX: Car Scanner & HUD mobile application available on the Google Play Store for Android devices. The app is designed to provide real-time vehicle diagnostics, health monitoring, and fault code reporting by connecting to an OBD-II device via Bluetooth.
a. Vehicle Diagnostics Data (via Bluetooth)
The app connects to your vehicle’s onboard systems through a Bluetooth-enabled OBD-II scanner. The data retrieved may include:
Speed
Engine RPM
Coolant Temperature
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
Other operational parameters relevant for diagnostics and display
This data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to any external server for profiling, advertising, or marketing purposes.
b. Operational Logs (via Firebase)
To enhance diagnostic support and improve app reliability, limited non-personal operational data may be securely logged using Firebase. This includes anonymized diagnostic communication metadata, which assists in identifying protocol behavior and ensuring compatibility across vehicles and OBD devices.
No personal user data, vehicle identification details, or location information is collected or stored.
c. Local Storage (PDF Reports)
Diagnostic summary reports generated through the app are saved as PDF files on your device’s external storage. These reports are stored locally and are not uploaded to any server or shared externally by the app.
The app may request the following Android permissions to function effectively:
Bluetooth Access: To connect to the OBD-II scanner
External Storage Access (Read/Write): To save diagnostic PDF reports locally
All permissions are used strictly for app functionality.
The information collected is used solely for:
Displaying real-time vehicle performance data
Reading, interpreting, and clearing fault codes (DTCs)
Generating offline diagnostic reports for user reference
Improving app compatibility and functionality through aggregated, anonymized logs
No data is shared with third parties.
Diagnostic logs stored in Firebase are retained only as long as necessary for compatibility improvement and debugging.
Locally saved PDF reports remain on your device unless deleted manually by you.
No personal or identifying data is stored beyond the app’s runtime context.
This app is intended for use by individuals above the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used this app, please contact us to request deletion of any stored information.
You retain full control over:
Disconnecting the OBD device at any time
Deleting saved reports from your device
Managing app permissions via your Android system settings
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or app functionality. Any changes will be posted within the app or on our official website, and your continued use of the app constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
