Thank you to everyone who attended our meeting on June 7.
We apologize to those who attempted to join us via Zoom. Our efforts to use a mobile hotspot and our phones were thwarted by signal interruptions.
Congratulations to Mike Wilbur, our door prize winner.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Douma Park Trash Pickup. O'Brien County Democrats volunteered to spring clean Douma Park (Our Parks | Prairie Heritage Center | O'Brien County Conservation) as part of the statewide Keep Iowa Beautiful project (Home | Keep Iowa Beautiful). Douma Park is located at 3351 Polk Ave, two miles west of Sanborn and one-half mile south of Hwy 18. O'Brien County Dems used this opportunity to show the county that we Democrats truly care about our environment and making a difference.

Day of Service proclaimed by the Presidential Inauguration Committee
On Monday, January 18, 2021 the PIC (Presidential Inauguration Committee) hosted a National Day of Service for the Inauguration of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The PIC promoted service events that focused on COVID-19 relief and address challenges that have been exacerbated by the pandemic, such as poverty, hunger, racial injustice, homelessness, mental health, and educational disparities.
O’Brien County Democrats provided baked goods to the residents and staff of The Pride Group in Primghar.
If you were unable to participate in our baked goods project, we encourage you to make a donation to the UDMO (Upper Des Moines Opportunity) O'Brien County Outreach Center (PO Box 462, Primghar IA, 51245). UDMO provides a variety of assistance to low income & elderly, including food, heating bills, and advocacy. You can read details on their website. If you participate in the Day of Service in this way, please send us an email (we don’t want to know the amount).
These pictures are from October 2007, when Joe Biden visited with O'Brien County Democrats while campaigning for president at the home of Mary Alice Campbell in Sheldon.
