2024 Oakwood DI Sponsorship Drive!

Destination Imagination is a creative problem-solving competition for grades K-12.  This year, we have 120 students participating from all five Oakwood schools!  Grades K-2 are called the Rising Stars and are non-competitive.  Oakwood teams in grades 3-12, however, are highly competitive.  While participating in DI at the regional and state level is relatively inexpensive, teams who advance to the Global Finals in May of each year face an almost insurmountable fundraising challenge.  If the team families cannot afford the cost, teams may be forced to forego the opportunity.  Most teams will say, "We all go, or none of us go."  This spirit of teamwork is at the heart of DI. 

Often called the "Olympics of creativity," Global Finals is a fantastic educational opportunity that these hard-working and creative kids have earned through many months of preparation and competition.  The new Oakwood DI Boosters, a 501(c)(3) organization, has been established with the goal of easing the financial burden on families by pursuing year-round fundraising opportunities.  We don't want a team who qualifies to have to decline the opportunity because costs are prohibitive.  Waiting to fundraise for Global Finals until after the state tournament in late March, as has been done in the past, gives us only 6-7 weeks for fundraising before Global Finals.  This short timeframe inherently limits the extent to which we can support our Oakwood teams. 

As part of our new year-round fundraising efforts, the Oakwood DI Boosters will be organizing a Sponsorship Drive each calendar year.  Sponsors will receive a variety of benefits based on the Sponsorship Levels.  Sponsors who donate $500 or more in 2024 will be recognized with their business logo/name, family name, or individual name on the student shirts worn during the 2025 tournament season!  Donations at that level made in 2025 will be recognized on the shirts for the 2026 season.

Please consider supporting Oakwood DI by becoming a sponsor!  We would also appreciate your help recruiting sponsors.  Please do all you can to spread the word in your networks.  Please shepherd the materials through the appropriate channels with organizations that you feel would be likely to support DI or STEAM activities.
