VALUES

We have 4 simple values here which guide how we do everything here at Oakway United. These come from our vision and what we believe. All this moves to be better at being United Together

UNITED TOGETHER

While there is no order to these values, this is the one we say the most. United Together has a two fold meaning. 1) We are united as a community with in the church. Does that mean we agree on everything, no. What it means is that we all work together for the purpose of the kingdom of God. 2) We are united with the community. Oakway United serves Westminster, Seneca, Wahalla and several other small towns in the area. We are United with these communities and serving them in what ever ways we can. It doesn't matter if you come here, we are here for you.

UNITED IN SENDING

Matthew 28, a scripture known as "The Great Commission" is Jesus' last words to his disciples. In it is one key word, GO. There is a lot of places for people to go: they go to their neighbors, they go to work, they go to school, they go into the community, and they can go into all the world. As church we take this commission seriously and endeavor to train and equip people to go and make disciples who make disciples.

UNITED WITH GOD

It should be clear by being a church that we are united with God, but sadly this isn't always the case. But here we strive for this to be so. Are we perfect in it, probably not, but it is our heart that we keep moving this way. To do everything God wants of us. Every week we end our services commissioning everyone to "Be united with God, being everyday missionaries, in your everyday mission field." This is one of the biggest ways we unite with God.

UNITED IN PRAYER

Prayer is the great unifying force. It is what bonds us with God, and it is what allows us to grow in sympathy and compassion with each other. It is the starting block of all unity. When we say "our hearts and prayers are with you", it is not all we will do, it is just the first step. We seek God in prayer, and we seek community with each other in prayer.
