Mr. Esquivel

Hello! My name is Adrian Esquivel and I am the Oak Run Middle School Head Band Director. I am in my eighth year of teaching and being at Oak Run MS. I teach the beginner saxophone, clarinet/bass clarinet, double reeds, and flutes as well as the Wind Ensemble for the 2024-2025 School Year. In addition to teaching at ORMS, I assist with the NBHS Mighty Unicorn Marching Band during the fall season as a Marching/Woodwind Tech. In addition to marching band, I also teach the Clarinet, Flute and Saxophone Choirs at NBHS.

 

I attended Texas Lutheran University, Class of 2017, where I received both a Bachelors in Music Education EC-12 and Bachelors in Instrumental Performance (Clarinet Emphasis). While at TLU, I was very involved and performed in several ensembles such as the TLU Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Chamber Orchestra, Contigo Saxophone Quartet, The Five Woodwind Quintet, and Flute Choir. 

 

I am very excited for this school year and look forward to meeting all of you!

Ms. Holt

My name is Kendall Holt and I am one of the Assistant Band Directors at Oak Run Middle School. I teach the beginner trumpet, French horn and trombone, as well as the Honor Band. In addition to ORMS, I help teach the NBHS Mighty Unicorn Marching Band in the fall and I also teach the French horn choir in the spring.

I graduated from the Greenwood School of Music at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma where I received a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. While at Oklahoma State, I performed with the university symphonic and concert bands, university horn choir and the Cowboy Marching Band. I served in many leadership roles while in college including section leader for the CMB, principal horn in concert band as well as principal horn in symphonic band. I was also an active member of the band service fraternity known as Kappa Kappa Psi. While in college, I marched mellophone with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps from 2018 to 2021 and served as a section leader in 2021. 

I later joined the visual staff at the Blue Knights for their 2022 season. I am currently a member of the visual staff at the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps and spend my summers teaching marching band!

In my free time I love to visit coffee shops, read lots of books and hang out with my cat Emerie.

Mr. Garcia

Hello! My name is Adam Garcia and I was born and raised in Houston, Texas where I attended Klein Forest High School. I then graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in Percussion from Sam Houston State University in 2015. 

While at SHSU I performed with the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, SHSU Percussion Group, Steel Band, and the Bearkat Marching Band. I was also a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. 

Prior to graduating from SHSU, I completed my student teaching at The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, TX. Before ORMS, I worked at Gerdes Junior High where I taught the Gerdes Junior High Symphonic Band.


My professional affiliations include TMEA, TBA, and Phi Mu Alpha.
