Oak Ridge Home & School Association organizes and coordinates this group of volunteers. If you volunteer to become a homeroom parent, you will be asked to help a group of parents plan and run one of the holiday parties for your child’s classroom. There are three parties held during the school year – Halloween Social, Winter Social, and Valentine’s Day Social. An initial meeting is held in late September for all parents who volunteer.

Lip Sync is one of our most popular nights which takes place in February. The kids get to perform songs in a group in the SAHS auditorium for the entire school community, while never having to utter a word! The children choose their own songs, rehearse and perform for 90 seconds of fun! DVD copies are available after the event for a small fee which helps provide scholarships to Souderton High School AV students.

After School REC - Throughout the school year, we organize activities that are grade appropriate. Events typically include both a physical activity and something hands-on, like crafts, science or games. Often, we include a service project to support our community or those in need more broadly.
Committee Chairs – Heather Markus and Melissa Barnacz
Oakie’s Caring Hearts – Oakie’s Caring Hearts was formed to better help those in need within the Oak Ridge community as well as those with life threatening illnesses or life tragedies. We help Mrs. Beebe, the school counselor, run two special events that benefit Oak Ridge families in need. In November, we coordinate a Food Drive where you can sign up to fill a brown paper bag with groceries for one family's Thanksgiving dinner. A list of the specific items needed is provided. In December, we help Oak Ridge families during the holiday season by organizing the collection of gift cards, money for utilities, and stockings filled with age/gender appropriate items such as small toys/books/toiletries/games. We call this "Stockings and Mittens."
Committee Chair – Heather Markus
