Thanksgiving Food Bags
Completed, Thank You!
We're excited to announce that we will be distributing Thanksgiving Food Bags during BINGO night! This year, we have 40 food bags available for volunteers to fill. These bags will directly benefit local families through our Oakies Caring Hearts program. If you're interested in helping, please follow the steps below:
Sign out one (or two!) brown paper grocery bags, each attached with a shopping list of non-perishable items. The sign-out table will be located just outside the gymnasium during BINGO night.
Purchase the items on the list and fill your bag.
Return your filled bag to the main office no later than Wednesday, November 15th. Our counselor, Mrs. Beebe, will oversee their distribution.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Hennings Market for their generous donation of grocery bags for this event, and to the Bean Bag program for facilitating the connection of our donations with local families in need.
Can't make it to BINGO night but still want to participate? Please contact our Thanksgiving food bags coordinator, Heather Markus, at heather.markus@gmail.com for more information. Thank you for your support!
Keystone Opportinuty Center Donations
We collected 70 pounds of donations this year, thank you!
Finally, we collect voluntary donations during BINGO night for the Keystone Opportunity Center pantry. This Oak Ridge tradition is an opportunity for our Owls to support our community! The donation bin will be located in the lobby. All non-perishable donations are welcome, but please note they are especially in need of the following items:
Peanut butter and jelly
Snacks such as poptarts, granola bars, and rice krispie treats
Crackers - saltines, club, peanut butter and cheese, cheese crackers, etc.
Personal care items (shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, toothpaste, toothbrushes)
Trash bags, tissues
Canned goods are also accepted, but they do receive many canned goods this time of year, and the above items are a greater need
If you can't make it to Bingo Night, and still want to participate, then please contact the Keystone donation coordinator Matt Stone at jamesmattstone@yahoo.com for more information. Thank you!
