Who We Are
A Vision, A Hope, A Reality
A Vision, A Hope, A Reality
In the year of 1923, The Reverend William Francis Cox was obedient to the Holy Spirit that told him to leave his hometown of Dunn, North Carolina and go to Durham, North Carolina and establish a church. In that same year he and his wife, Margaret Cox traveled to Durham. They were on a mission for the Lord! Arriving in Durham, they settled at 620 Colfax Street and begin holding church services in their living room. The tiny church had its humble beginning at the same time Trinity College (Duke University) was being established by James B. Duke. The Free Will Baptist Church was being birthed in the minds and hearts of others throughout the community.
