Change can feel scary - especially when you're stepping into a whole new world.
Ten year old Lily is about to leave the safety of Primary school behind for the unknown halls of Intermediate. With her heart full of worries and doubts, she stumbles into a magical In-Between place where glowing doors, mirror pools, and whimsical creatures guide her toward courage.
Through Each encounter, Lily learns that bravery isn't about being fearless-it's about facing the unknown with hope, trust, and a little bit of magic.
The Bridge to Brave is a heartfelt story for children (ages 9 to 12) navigating lifes big transitions. Written with warmth and wonder, this book reminds young readers and adults that feeling scared is okay- and that they are never alone on their journey.
Perfect for children moving to a new school, parents supporting their children through change, or anyone who needs a gentle reminder to trust in their own bravery.
This story was born from a very real place. My daughter was going through a hard time, knowing it is her last year of Primary School.
I wrote the Bridge to Brave for her, and when she read it, I watched her worries soften and her confidence grow. Now she often turns to the book for a little "pick me up" or reminder that she has the strength to face new challenges.
Seeing her become okay with the transition inspired me to reach out to others - children and adults alike, who may be facing their own "bridges". Whether its starting a new school, beginning a new job, or taking a whole new turn in life, bravery is something we all learn to carry.
