Nyx: Dark Mode & Font Changer ("Nyx", "the Extension", "we", "our") is a Chrome browser extension developed to apply dark mode themes and custom font styles to websites for improved readability and reduced eye strain. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles your information.
Short version: Nyx collects no personal data. Everything stays on your device.
We do not collect any personal information.
The Extension does not collect, transmit, store on external servers, or share any of the following:
Personal identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
Browsing history or web activity
Passwords or authentication credentials
Financial or payment information
Location data
Health data
Communications of any kind
The Extension stores your preferences locally on your device only, using the Chrome storage.local API. This data never leaves your browser. Settings stored locally include:
Dark mode enabled/disabled state
Selected dark mode preset (e.g., Classic, Dim, etc.)
Brightness, contrast, saturation, hue rotation, sepia, grayscale, and blue light filter levels
Selected font (including the OpenDyslexic accessibility font)
Per-site whitelist (sites where dark mode is turned off)
This data is stored solely to remember your preferences between browser sessions. You can clear it at any time by removing the Extension.

No permission is used to collect, read, or transmit your personal information.
Nyx does not use any third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking tools. No data is shared with any third party under any circumstances.
Nyx does not execute any remote code. All JavaScript, CSS, and font files are bundled within the Extension package and served locally. No external scripts are loaded or executed.
Nyx does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, the Extension is safe for use by all ages.
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
