Below is all of the information you need to complete the 2025 NYSSO Exam. If you have any issues please contact your board and have them contact NYSSO to straighten out any issues. If you require a retake please CLICK HERE or click on the Need a Retake Tab in the top right. Please make sure to follow all of the directions in order to complete the test properly. At the conclusion of the test you will receive your score. In order to pass you must receive a 76% or better on the exam.
Once you are ready to take the exam you can either go to the tab titled Links to Chapter Tests or CLICK HERE
To begin the NYSSO Exam you should first go through all of these directions. Once you have gone through the directions you will be all set to complete and submit your test.

To get into your test click on Links to Chapter Tests in the Top Right Corner. You can also CLICK HERE. Once you get to the beginning of the NYSSO Exam you will put in the Student ID provided to you by your chapter. Upon entry you will be able to start taking the exam.

As you answer questions the color will change to show that it has been completed. Make sure that all questions are colored before submitting your test.

To review questions there will be arrows at the bottom which will allow you to move throughout the test. You can also click on the question you would like and go directly to that question as well.

As you conclude the test and turn in your answers you will be told if you have any questions have not been completed. If you do not complete in one sitting you are able to go back into the test and complete any that you have missed and then submit your answers later. However, the questions will be shuffled each time you open the test. The answers to the questions will remain in tact but the question number may shift.

The test will automatically save each time you move on to a new question. If you leave a sitting and do not move on to the next question then that question will not be saved.
If you leave the test make sure not to click on finish quiz. If you click to finish the quiz your test is considered complete and the score is final.

Upon completion of the test all members will be given their score immediately. If a member requires a retake they will be given the opportunity for one retake.
The program will indicate that it is waiting to start the next activity. That will not apply. The test is complete. You may leave the test.
