Upstate NY Science Librarians Meeting 2026

We are excited to invite you register for the Upstate New York Science Librarians Meeting, to be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, in the Reinhold Campus Center, Houghton University, Houghton, NY.

Onsite registration will be open from 9–9:30 AM, followed by a brief welcome. Our keynote address beginning promptly at 9:45 a.m.

This year’s FREE meeting includes:

Continental breakfast

Lunch

Tour of Science laboratories and the Margaret Bush Greenhouse or the Houghton Ski Hill/Ropes Course Trail

You are invited to submit a proposal for the 2026 Upstate NY Science Librarians Meeting held in Houghton, NY on October 16.

Librarians are interested in presentations on any aspect of librarianship. You can also consider one of these topics:

• Fundamental library services and instruction

• Emerging tech and AI in STEM libraries

• New discovery systems and research tools

• Research data management and data services

• Systematic reviews and evidence synthesis

Submit a proposal for a short or long presentation / a poster or an ePoster: https://forms.gle/dYhkY9sdZTTxBojH8

• Short Presentation ~15 minutes (10 minutes + 5 minutes for questions)

• Long Presentation ~30 minutes (25 minutes + 5 minutes for questions)

• Poster ~ lunch hour display 

• ePoster ~5 minutes

The deadline for proposal submissions is August 31, 2026.

Accepted presenters will be notified by September 4, 2026.

This is a reminder that the next Upstate New York Science Librarians Meeting will be held at Houghton University, Houghton, NY on October 16, 2026.

I will be sending out a Call for Proposals in mid-July for presentations and poster sessions. Please consider sharing with the group a project, research initiative, or other work you completed during the past academic year or are currently pursuing this summer.

Be on the lookout for the Call for Proposals, and I hope you'll consider contributing to the program. We encourage everyone to attend, whether or not you plan to give a presentation or present a poster.

I look forward to seeing many of you at Houghton University and learning about the exciting work taking place across our libraries.
