As a former choir kid, I have always had a voice in my head to take music seriously as a career. Years passed and I was growing up; I had graduated from a master cosmetology program, worked as a MAC artist for years, completed a marketing program, and tried being a receptionist. Pushing the inner voice down. I feel as if I did not fit anywhere no matter what I tried, I continue to feel this way. Especially when it came to school or work. Then, I started posting myself singing again after a while in 2024. Even moved across the country to explore more options for my life! When I moved to the west coast, everything suddenly clicked and my life changed.
I began producing music fully on my own in 2025 not knowing a damn thing about music theory. Fully on my cellphone and iPad. The more that I produced, the more I wanted to say about my life. Nothing has been perfect about the learning process. During that time I fell into a deep depression in August 2025, due to some comments online from posting singing videos along with growing pains. I was about to turn 24 with no career mapped out, living far from what's familiar, I recieved hundreds of job rejections, there was no clear path that I could see. I felt like a complete failure. Months went on and I decided that I have worked way too hard to give up on the one thing that I can't stop thinking about every morning. Since then, I have been practicing everyday and learning from YouTube vocal exercises to get to where I am now.
I am not quitting any time soon, I love the way I can express my art and feelings into one or multiple songs to illustrate a story. My goal with future projects is to create artistry that people can relate to, cry to, dance to, blast in their room, and to express what has happened in my life that may have happened in yours too. To feel everything that wasn't allowed to be felt. I, like many people, have a lot of unresolved trauma and music is like free therapy, especially when writing it.
All of the talented and diligent artists you and I see everyday have a similar story. Like them, I know that the world is hungry to hear more experiences shared vividly. This industry is tough to navigate, but all of the noise silences once you perform. I hate AI and creativity keeps my blood flowing to my heart. Everyone walking on this earth has a unique story to be told.
