How do I book a room?
Attendees may make room reservations by calling the Turning Stone's toll free number 1-800-771-7711 by Monday, April 18, 2022. To ensure attendees receive the group rate, attendees should identify themselves as with the New York Library Association Section of School Librarians (NYLA/SSL) room block. Hotel and Tower rooms are available at the group rate of $174/night.

I'm concerned about eating with others. How will meals work at the conference?

Friday's breakfast and lunch options will give attendees the ability to easily grab and go if they are more comfortable eating by themselves in their hotel rooms. Other meals, like the Friday Knickerbocker Banquet and Saturday's membership breakfast and keynote lunch, will be plated. The conference committee is committed to working with The Turning Stone to provide seating arrangements that allow participants to spread out and distance themselves during all shared meals.

My administrator is supportive of professional development but not one that takes place at a casino. What should I tell them?
My administrator is supportive of professional development but not one that takes place at a casino. What should I tell them?
The Turning Stone Event Center is separate from the Turning Stone Casino and it is possible to access all meals, breakout sessions and keynotes without having to go in the casino portion of the venue. Additionally, many professional organizations, including the NYS Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance have their annual conference at The Turning Stone Event center each year without any issues.

NYLA will offer refunds to people in this situation. If this happens, reach out to NYLA as soon as possible so they can help you start the process of requesting a refund.
