Note that these instructions are for sponsors/teachers, not individual students. Students interested in starting a chapter should relay this information to their teacher, or fill out the interest form linked under "How to Join."

To register a JCL chapter, you'll need a membership with the American Classical League. If you are not already registered, the cost to join as a new member is $48, but the ACL offers full support if the cost would prevent your participation.  

From there, you'll be able to click on your profile on the ACL website and find the option to "Register a NJCL Chapter"--- this costs $5 per student registering, but the NJCL has similar relief programs (scroll down) if your students are unable to pay. If you register before December 1st, there are no chapter fees; after then, the fee rises to $20.

Once your chapter is registered for the NJCL, you'll fill out the NYJCL's registration packet (see left) with the names of each student and some information about your school's Latin program. NYJCL registration is $1 per student and sponsor, but if cost is an issue, reach out to our state chair/treasurer, Mrs. Stevens (cstevens@alcsny.org), and she'll be glad to help. Once this form and its accompanying check are received, your students will be full-fledged members of the NY and NJCL, and your chapter will be in good standing.
