The New York Dulcimer Orchestra (NYDO), based in New Paltz, New York, is one of the region's premier ensembles dedicated to the Appalachian mountain dulcimer. Founded in 2022 under the visionary leadership of founder and Conductor Emeritus Carol Walker, the orchestra was established to celebrate the beauty, versatility, and rich traditions of this uniquely American instrument while bringing musicians together through the joy of ensemble performance. Today, Patty Curtis, conductor and director, proudly carries that vision forward, building on the orchestra's strong foundation and continuing its tradition of musical excellence, artistic growth, and community engagement.
