ARTISTS

Artists in the NYC Jazz Manouche/Gypsy Jazz community - that I know of - either by reputation, personal acquaintance, or through the listings here of jams and shows that feature music inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli.

Many are headliners leading duos, trios, combos, and hot clubs (some have permanent lineups; some play with artists drawn from the community as needed.) If an artist is listed here, they've played a Jazz Manouche gig in NYC - but many are also active in all kinds of hot jazz/swing/you-know-it-when-you-hear-it-jazz shows in the city.

This list is not comprehensive and is in progress - any omissions regretted; if you are playing or singing this music in NYC let me know!

There are players I have chatted with more than once - but I don't know their last name or their IG account. They probably just know me as Liam or "the guy with the hat" who sings "Whispering" and "Smoke Rings" at Bistro So and Flower Cat.

From observation lineups are fluid (bass players are very busy) but if there is a combo name I've listed it after the artist. Many lead jam sessions.
