Custodial and facilities staff in 537 school buildings are committed to saving energy to protect our city's energy supply in extreme heat events this summer, preventing blackouts and brownouts and keeping us all safe and cool.
You can also help keep our neighbors cool and safe all summer long by saving energy at home:
Turn off lights in unoccupied rooms
Shut off and unplug devices you aren't using
Wait to run high-energy appliances like dishwashers and laundry machines until off-peak hours (cooler times of day)
Keep windows and exterior doors closed in air-conditioned spaces
