In January, high school teachers and staff met with local organizations, participated in a book and formalwear clothing swap, and learned about environmental justice in NYC. At the end of the event, they made a climate action plan for their school or community.

Are you a high school student in New York City Public Schools ready to make a positive impact in your community? Apply to join our Youth Leadership Council (YLC)!
As a YLC member, you'll gain exciting opportunities like:
Leading climate action in your school
Building leadership, organizational, and soft skills for your future
Networking with youth and professionals across the city
Planning key events like the Climate Action Planning Event and Youth Climate Summit
Meetings are twice a month from 4:30 - 6:30 pm: one virtual skill-building session and one in-person meeting.
Students will need to upload a reference letter from someone who can speak to your strengths.
