Register your high school group for the Climate Action Planning Event!
The Office of Energy & Sustainability’s Youth Leadership Council (YLC) empowers diverse high school students from NYC Public Schools to increase inclusive sustainability and climate action across schools and communities.
At our annual student event, middle and high school students gain critical leadership and problem solving skills. Students become equipped with climate action knowledge, and develop networks to expand sustainability in their communities.
Thursday, January 22 (11AM-3PM)
Gotham Tech High School, 53-16 Northern Blvd, Woodside, NY 11377
High school students meet with local organizations, participate in a book and formalwear clothing swap, and learn about environmental justice in NYC. At the end of the event, they will make a climate action plan for their school or community.
Our partner organizations offer lots of opportunities throughout the year, from volunteer roles to internships and jobs.
This program, facilitated by Solar One, integrates solar content into existing electrical and engineering courses at CTE High Schools. The goal is to prepare students for green workforce opportunities.
Every school is encouraged to start a student club to support sustainability! We have lots of ideas for engaging your Green Team.
