Audra is is an Associate Professor at New York City College of Technology. In addition to her academic roles, she is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. She previously served for 10 years on the New York State Board of Dentistry and continues as an extended board member, as well as a dental hygiene licensing examiner for the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX).
Helen is a graduate of New York City College of Technology & Brooklyn College, and is a past President of NYCDHA. Helen shows her passion for the profession in her roles with the NYCDHA and as a program planner for the Greater New York Dental Meeting.
Jessica is a graduate of New York City College of Technology and the University of Albany. Jessica is an educator and teaches Periodontics and first-year clinic. Jessica's passion for dental hygiene stems from watching her students grow as professionals.
Daughn Thomas is a passionate dental hygienist and former educator who, in addition to her role as treasurer, leads the NY HY PAC, a political action committee dedicated to advancing the interests and professional agenda of dental hygienists across New York State.
Vermelle is a graduate of New York City College of Technology and St. Francis College. Vermelle has a strong passion for dental hygiene, and promotes the profession through engagement in local and state components, and through mentoring incoming leaders.
Elizabeth is a graduate of Hostos Community College, and works as part of a hospital outreach program. Elizabeth's passion for dental hygiene guides her participation in the NYCDHA.
Denice is a graduate of Hostos Community College and Lehman college. She remains actively involved in her local and state dental hygiene associations. As a Past President of both New York Dental Hygienists' association (NYDHA) and New York City Dental Hygienists' (NYCDHA) she mentors emerging leaders within NYDHA, encouraging professional growth and engagement across the organization. Denice is passionate about advancing the dental hygiene profession through advocacy and leadership.
Harold is a graduate from New York University, and works as a dental hygiene educator. His passion for dental hygiene leadership comes from his motivation to advocate for his students at Plaza College in Queens, NY.
Janine is a graduate of West Virginia University, class of 2002. ADHA member, current VP to NYDHA and board member of NYCDHA. Working previously in private practice, as an educator and in hospital settings, Janine has an appreciation for the myriad ways in which oral hygiene impacts us all. Inspired by colleagues and patients alike, Janine is eager to be an advocate and lean into policy that will better serve our communities.
Esther Tingué RDH, BS, MA is a Full-time Clinical Instructor for the Department of Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting at New York University College of Dentistry and an adjunct faculty at NYU Brooklyn Patient Care. Tingué has over 25 years of experience in private practice and has presented lectures on oral pathology and the importance of mental health for dental hygienists. She is an active member of the board of the New York City Dental Hygienists’ Association. Her interests and current focus highlight the importance of mental health within the dental hygiene community and collaborating with not-for-profit organizations to promote the significance of oral health. Esther strives to impact the lives of her students, the dental hygiene community, and society as a whole.
Molly is a graduate of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in North Carolina, Minnesota State University, Mankato, and is currently enrolled at Baruch College's Zicklin School. She works in private practice and is also a clinical educator, focusing on first year students. Being active in the ADHA and NYC's component has allowed her to serve in various roles where she has learned leadership skills. Through these roles, she has had the opportunity to advocate for a more satisfying dental hygiene profession.
Shaquantia, or "Tia," is an adjunct professor at the New York City College of Technology, Clinical Dental Hygienist, ADHA member, current V.P of Membership Development and Engagement with the New York State Dental Hygiene Association and board member of NYCDHA. With 15 years working in dentistry, Shaquantia has been able to impact the lives of students & patients, and learn leadership skills from various dental colleagues met through practicing, teaching, and volunteering.
