Dr. Sethuraman “Panch” Panchanathan is a distinguished computer scientist, educator, and innovation leader who served as the 15th Director of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) from 2020 to 2025. He is a Professor at Arizona State University (ASU), where his work has focused on artificial intelligence, inclusive innovation, and technologies that improve lives. Dr. Panchanathan serves as the SSSGC Zone 1 Chairman.
He was awarded the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards bestowed by the Government of India, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to science.
A lifelong devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Dr. Panchanathan has often shared how Swami’s guidance and grace have shaped his personal and professional journey.
Drawing upon decades of spiritual practice, service, and personal experiences with Bhagawan, he speaks on integrating Sai values into leadership, work, family life, and service to society. His reflections in today's world offer a powerful example of living the principles of “Work is Worship” and “Duty is God”.
Dr. Soumya Panchanathan is a pediatrician, educator, and devoted follower of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. She grew up in Windsor, Ontario and came to Swami when she was 12 years old. She has served in leadership and teaching roles in pediatric medical education, including at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where she has helped train and mentor future physicians.
Deeply involved in the Sri Sathya Sai Organization, Dr. Panchanathan has contributed to Sai Spiritual Education, youth development, devotional singing, and service initiatives. She has taught SSSE for over 20 years, primarily groups 3 and 4 and currently is part of the SSSE Curriculum Team and the National Training Team. She is passionate about guiding young people and helping them apply Sai’s teachings in their daily lives.
Drawing from her experiences in medicine, family life, and spiritual practice, Dr. Panchanathan shares practical insights on compassionate healthcare, mindfulness, and living with love and purpose. Her talks reflect the transformative impact of Sai Baba’s teachings and inspire others to see the Divine in all and serve with compassion.
