Privacy Policy — NX Browser
Effective date: July 9, 2026
App: NX Browser (com.nxbrowsers.browser)
NX Browser ("we", "our", or "the app") is a web browser for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. We designed NX Browser so that your browsing data stays on your device.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
NX Browser does not require an account and does not collect, store, or transmit to our servers any of the following:
- your name, email address, or other contact details;
- your browsing history, bookmarks, or open tabs;
- your downloads or files;
- your PIN or biometric data;
- your precise location.
We do not operate any backend servers and have no access to your in-app data.
2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is created and stored only on your device and never leaves it:
- Browsing history — used for the "History" screen and address suggestions. Stored in a local database.
- Open tabs — used to restore your session after a restart. Stored in local app storage.
- Pinned sites — used for home page shortcuts. Stored in local app storage.
- Download records — used for the "Downloads" screen. Stored in a local database; the files themselves are saved by the Android system Download Manager.
- App lock PIN — used for the optional app lock. Stored as a salted cryptographic hash; the PIN itself is never stored.
- Settings (theme and preferences) — used for app functionality. Stored in local app storage.
You can delete this data at any time: clear your history from the History screen (or enable automatic clearing on exit), remove downloads from the Downloads screen, or uninstall the app to remove everything.
Biometric unlock. If you enable fingerprint/face unlock, authentication is performed entirely by the Android system (BiometricPrompt). The app never sees, stores, or transmits your biometric data.
3. Network Requests Made by the App
To provide its core functionality, the app makes the following network requests:
- Websites you visit. When you browse, the app connects directly to the websites you open, like any web browser. Those websites may collect data as described in their own privacy policies.
- Search and search suggestions (DuckDuckGo). Search queries typed in the address bar are sent to DuckDuckGo to perform the search and to show autocomplete suggestions. See the DuckDuckGo Privacy Policy: https://duckduckgo.com/privacy
- Site icons. The app may fetch website icons (favicons) for your pinned sites via Google's favicon service. Only the website's domain name is sent as part of this request.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
NX Browser shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob is operated by Google and may collect and process certain data to serve and measure ads, including:
- Advertising ID (a resettable identifier provided by Android);
- coarse device information (device model, OS version, language);
- general (coarse) location derived from IP address;
- ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) and diagnostics.
This data is collected and processed by Google under its own policies:
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google advertising technologies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Your choices. You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on the device). Where required by law (e.g., EEA/UK), you may be shown a consent message allowing you to choose between personalized and non-personalized ads.
5. Permissions Used by the App
- Internet — required for browsing, search suggestions, and ads.
- Biometric (optional) — used only if you enable fingerprint/face unlock; handled by the Android system.
The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or precise location.
6. Children
NX Browser is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
7. Data Security
Data stored by the app remains in the app's private storage on your device, protected by Android's application sandbox. The optional app lock PIN is stored only as a salted cryptographic hash. Please note that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
All app data is stored locally and retained until you delete it. You can:
- clear browsing history in the app (or enable auto-clear on exit);
- delete individual downloads or all download records in the app;
- remove the app lock PIN in the app settings;
- uninstall the app to permanently delete all locally stored app data.
Data collected by Google AdMob is retained according to Google's policies linked above.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
