Northwoods Women in Science

NWIS supports womxn in all stages of their education and careers in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and biomedical fields by providing and fostering community, mentorship, scholarship, and networking opportunities.

NWIS strives to support womxn in our community, support the next generation of womxn in STEM, and support each other through networking and socializing opportunities. This support framework includes hosting meetings approximately once a month, with activities including: hosting career panels; presentations from community members and organizations focused on STEM, womxn, and diversity; participating in local behind-the-scenes tours; organizing fundraisers; providing K-12 educator scholarships; and, offering many opportunities for networking and socializing, in both formal and informal settings.
