Projects should only be submitted if made between the start and end of the competition.
The competition begins immediately and entries should be submitted anytime up until 7am ET on Sunday 2/21/21.
Entries should contain a short writeup that includes a title of your entry, the category (Rose, Smith, 2-D, Embroidery, Food, Fiction, etc) and any details you wish known about how your entry was made, why you chose to do certain things on your entry and any other information. If you have any questions on category, what your write-up should contain, etc. please let me know.
If your entry is reign themed, please note it in your submission as there will be a secondary winner for a reigned theme.
Entries can either be messaged through FB or emailed to theafura@gmail.com and we ask that you keep your photos as clear and detailed as possible, but to a maximum of 10 photos.
Photos will be posted in an album and specifically numbered. A poll will be created when voting is opened at 9am ET on Sunday 2/21/21 and will close at 6pm ET the same day.
Please note that this competition is for fun and I encourage you all to enjoy, try something new, use a new material, or do something that you want to do!

Finger Weaving is a way to weave without a loom. It is an ancient art. In Amtgard, it is a common method used to make belts. Dame Callandra will demonstrate several types of weaves including diagonal, chevron, and diamond. You are encouraged to follow along. Macrame cord and parachute cord are often used for Amtgard belts. For this class we will be making small samples of different weaves. I suggest using worsted or dk yarn, however you can use cord if you would like.
Materials Needed
Dowel rod, metal rings or d-rings (1.5-2 inches) to tie your project to. Something sturdy to anchor your weaving to, such as a table, chair, C
clamp, or clipboard. Small lengths of yarn or cord in 2 or 3 colors (avoid black unless you are an experienced weaver). The pieces should be
about 24-30 inches each if you are going to double them. Single lengths(for dowel) should be about 18 inches each. If using 4mm or 6 mm
macrame cord, use 36 inches doubled. 2 mm can use the lengths for yarn. 2 sets of yarn/ cord
-for doubled over yarn, 9 strands for each set
- for single, 18 strands for each set
- for 4mm or 6mm macrame cord, 7 strands for doubled over and 14 for single.
Scissors. Extra yarn to tie your piece to the anchor point.
