“Humanity is an assemblage of information-processing entities, and in that regard you have potential.”
~Alastair Reynolds
I have often called myself a "Jack of all Trades." I am a work of art, comprised of unrelated groupings with a collective work history, including being a cosmetologist, receptionist, warranty clerk, and substitute schoolteacher. I have worked with my family, where I gained experience in concessions, antiques, remodels, and fireworks sales. I understand that my assemblage, throughout the phases of my life, is the pursuit of what makes living remarkable.
After earning my graduate degree, I became a "Master" with a skill set perfect for literary composition and analysis. With two decades of experience in K-12 education, I made the exciting leap into higher education, where I serve as an Associate Professor of English at Navarro College. In addition to this role, I am an adjunct professor at Tarrant County College and the East Texas A&M CID program, where I mentor fellow adjunct instructors.
I possess a diversified skill set that enables me to support students of all levels. My undergraduate degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies. It allows me to serve as a resource for language arts skills across all disciplines. The numerous years I spent as an ESL and SPED inclusion teacher in public education have given me the experience to serve those best under my instruction.
My M.S. in English is the perfect addition to my compilation. I hope to guide aspiring undergraduates through the methodologies of composition. The foundational footwork for students' success begins with the ability to research and communicate their knowledge in meaningful ways.
It is in this place
that you create.
